Mezzo-soprano Sarah Dailey and collaborative pianist Stephen Karr serenade with songs and poetry representing a wide spectrum of women’s experience and stories. The program runs the gamut from the catty observations by ancient Greek poet Sappho to the haunting lyricism of Florence Price, and the unadorned emotional honesty of contemporary poet Nikita Gill paired with composer Melissa Dunphy's unique songwriting. The program also includes poetry by Edna St. Vincent Millay, Fannie Carter Woods, and Julia Johnson Davis set to music by Undine Smith Moore, Elizabeth Vercoe, and H. Leslie Adams.
