Each season the faculty of Spotlight on Opera at Tulsa Opera welcomes our students with a fun, informal serenade of opera, Broadway, and a few surprises! The public is invited to join in the fun and the reception that follows. Admission is FREE, but you must reserve a ticket as space is limited.

THE MAGIC FLUTE
Mozart’s magical coming-of-age story follows Prince Tamino into a strange land, where he meets dragons, a bird man, mysterious ladies, an evil queen, a temple of learned priests, and a beautiful captive princess with whom he immediately falls in love.

TOURING CHILDREN’S OPERA: Goldie B. Locks & The Three Singing Bears
Goldie loves bugs! But when she chases a butterfly too far from home, she gets lost in the woods. There she meets Little Bear and his musical family, who help her find her way home. Themes of friendship and the importance of honesty are woven into this charming story. Free to the public. Check schedule for dates, times, and locations.

There’s nothing more exciting than catching a rising star. Aria Extravaganza is that moment. It’s your first opportunity to hear Spotlight’s exciting new talent for the 2026 season. These amazing emerging artists will serenade you with some of your favorite arias from best-loved operas, with a few surprises mixed in.

THE CRUCIBLE
Adapted nearly word-for-word from Arthur Miller’s Tony-Award-winning 1953 play, Robert Ward’s The Crucible won both the 1962 Pulitzer Prize for Music and the New York Music Critics Circle Citation.
In 1692 Salem, farmer John Proctor struggles to maintain integrity against a background of fear, suspicion, and lies. His former lover’s plot to get rid of his wife and reunite with John spirals into a literal witchhunt, changing history forever.
