When Shreveport scion Boudreaux Donaudy dies, he leaves everything to St. John Berchman’s, and the family isn’t too happy about that. Young Remy Joe knows just what to do --- he calls in his sweetheart Loretta’s daddy, a slick country lawyer from out the bayou. The snobby Donaudys think the Schicchis are trash, but they change their tune when Johnny comes up with a plan to save the family fortune. Question is, will Johnny help the Donaudys, or will he just help himself? Puccini’s only comedy is a laugh-filled gem, and you’ll swoon for the big tune, “O mio babbino caro.”
