Sabrina Ellis, mezzo-soprano

Sabrina Ellis currently resides in Austin, Texas, where she will soon begin the final year of her BM in Music Studies at the University of Texas Butler School of Music. There, Ms. Ellis studies with Nikita Storojev and has sung with the Chamber Singers premiere choral ensemble, the Early Music Ensemble, and the Butler Opera Center.


Ms. Ellis has spent two summers with the LAH-SOW summer opera training program, singing Turnspit in Dvořák’s Rusalka in 2020 as well as Papagena and Second Spirit in Mozart's Die Zauberflöte in 2021. She also recently premiered the role of Natasha in the new work “Audition Fever” by Tzu-Chin Hsu with the Butler Opera Center in April 2021. Ms. Ellis was named winner of the 2021 Austin Gilbert and Sullivan Vocal Scholarship for her performance of Rossini's Una voce poco fa, and is to be featured in the company's upcoming program "Fresh Takes." She is hopeful for all that this summer with Spotlight and beyond will bring.
