"Learning to love my voice"

“Since being back from Spotlight I have been learning to love my voice for what it is now, instead of trying to make it into something I think it should be. At Spotlight I realized that I really want to go back to France and study French vocal literature more in depth. I am super passionate about my senior recital because I am dedicating the entire second half of it to works by African American composers! I am so excited to expose this repertoire to my colleagues at Maryland because there is so much beautiful repertoire that should be in the classical music canon, but isn't due to a long history of racism."
