Ira Stecher

Tenor Ira Stecher is equally at home on concert, musical theatre, and operatic stages. Most recently, he performed the role of Monostatos in Landlocked Opera Inc’s Die Zauberflöte as well as the title role in Purcell’s Dido and Aeneas at UMKC Conservatory. Other operatic performances have included Il Conte d’Almaviva in Il barbiere di Siviglia at Opera in the Ozarks, Eisenstein in Die Fledermaus at UMKC, and the Defendant in Landlocked Opera Inc.’s inaugural performance of Trial by Jury. Ira graduated from The Florida State University in Tallahassee, FL in 2017 with a Bachelor of Arts in Music and a Bachelor of Science in Biomedical Mathematics. He received his Master of Music at the University of Missouri – Kansas City, and will begin a Master of Science in Bioinformatics at Northeastern University this Fall.
