Genevieve Hahn, soprano

Genevieve Hahn is a second-year double Master’s student in Flute and Vocal Performance at the University of Delaware, where she studies flute with Professor Eileen Grycky and voice with Dr. Isai Jess Munoz. At the university, Genna has been a member of University Singers, Schola Cantorum, and Chorale.

Genna is a salaried vocalist at the Lower Brandywine Presbyterian Church, and she won the Greater Philadelphia National Association of Teachers of Singing Adult/College Musical Theater Competition in 2018 and the Eastern Division of the MTNA Young Artist Voice Competition in 2019. She also won a scholarship to study voice at the UD Master Players Festival, a Certificate of Merit from the Italian Consulate of Philadelphia, and an award for excellence in German. In 2021, she took part in the Spotlight on Opera program, and she will take part in a 12-day choral residency at Cambridge University in the winter of 2022.

Genna has performed in master classes with Edrie Means Weekly and Forrest McClendon, and her earlier private teachers have included Dr. Michael Larkin, Jessica Graae, Carrie Hardy, and Mary Ellen Schauber.

She is a member of four honor societies, including Pi Kappa Lambda Eta Chi Chapter and Phi Kappa Phi. In her free time, she actively raises money for pediatric cancer research through UDance and donates to various fundraisers online.
