Christina Yun

Soprano

Korean-Canadian soprano Christina Yun is a versatile performer of many styles, from Strauss and Verdi to Porter and Berlin. She was Mozart’s fiery Donna Elvira (Don Giovanni, 2022) and noble La Contessa Almaviva (Le nozze di Figaro, 2019), the elegant Ghost of Christmas Past (Miss Scrooge, Penny and Pound Productions, 2022), Tchaikovsky’s arduous and jealous Lensky (Eugene Onegin, Opera Queens, 2022), among many roles from her studies in the past decade. She took home a slew of scholarships in the now-disbanded Rotary Burlington Music Festival in 2017 that included the Adrianne Pieczonka Most Outstanding Vocalist award. Yun is currently a contract performer with Mike Fan’s Opera Queens, performing in local concerts for all ages and stages; she performs as a freelance artist in the Mississauga (Ontario) community. She has had the pleasure of studying under the tutelage of award-winning Canadian soprano Leslie Fagan, internationally acclaimed mezzo-soprano Susanne Mentzer, and with French-Mexican soprano Frédérique Vézina as well as with coaches Lorin Shalanko and Alexander Katsman.
